2026-03-29: Built-in skills: /pdf (read, summarize, extract tables), /docx (read, edit, create Word docs), /pptx (create/edit PowerPoint), /xlsx (read, analyze, edit Excel), /canvas-design (create visual designs). All available in Claude Desktop without connector setup. Usage: just drag-and-drop the file into Cowork or use the slash command. No API costs beyond standard Cowork subscription. Excellent Tier 1 starting point for business client onboarding.
