Things to check

Figma rate-limits MCP tools that read data by seat type: Starter-plan users and View/Collab seats on paid plans get up to 6 tool calls per month; Dev or Full seats get per-minute limits similar to the Figma REST API. The remote server (mcp.figma.com) needs no desktop app; the desktop-server path requires Figma Desktop with Dev Mode. Only accesses files you already have access to; canvas-write is beta and will eventually become a paid usage-based feature.
